how do you find out how much a percentage is in a real number,like someone told me 15% equals 9,how do you find out?

If 15% of the number was 9, i would divide it by fifteen and multiply by 100. Doviding by fifteen would get 1%, which in this case is 0.6. Then multiplying it by 100 would gove you 100%, or the whole number. The answer would be 60.
